HYROX Coaches Summit London: The future of performance training
I'm currently in London for the Hyrox Coaches Summit – an international meeting point for coaches, athletes, and experts in the field of Hyrox, functional fitness, and performance training.
What I perceive here particularly strongly:
Hyrox is developing rapidly, changing the way we understand, plan, and execute training.
Hyrox is more than a trend
Hyrox combines strength, endurance, and functional load. Unlike many other training formats, it's not just about „being fit,“ but to remain performant under real-world load.
That means:
– constant performance over a longer period of time
- Efficient energy distribution
– targeted combination of strength and endurance
Why classic training is often not enough
Many train intensively – but not specifically enough.
Typical challenges that I see again and again:
– missing training structure
– overtraining in the „grey zone“
– no clear control of intensity
- Lack of progression
In the Hyrox context in particular, this means that potential is not fully exploited.
Performance Diagnostics as a Game Changer
A key topic at the Summit - and also in my day-to-day work:
Data-driven training.
Performance diagnostics (e.g., VO₂max, metabolic analysis, BIA) make training:
measurable
controllable
- Individually optimizable
This enables:
- Precise training zones
- Better race organization
- Targeted improvement of endurance performance
– more efficient fat and carbohydrate utilization
In short: Less „guessing,“ more „knowing.“.
The Chance for Studios
There's a clear opportunity emerging for Hyrox, CrossFit, and Functional Fitness studios:
– Expansion of the offering
– Addressing new target groups
– stronger member retention through structured programs
- Differentiation in the market
At the same time, many studios are asking themselves the question:
How do we integrate this meaningfully without adding complexity?
Cooperation as a smart solution approach
This is exactly where my work comes in. I support studios in strategically expanding their offerings – without additional internal effort.
Specifically through:
– HYROX-specific workshops and training formats
structured competition preparation
- Mobile performance diagnostics directly on site
– concrete derivation of training and nutrition recommendations
The goal:
More performance for members – without extra effort for the studio.
Conclusion: Performance Training is becoming more strategic
The development is clear:
Training is becoming increasingly data-based, structured and targeted.
Hyrox is a key driver of this development.
For athletes, this means:
more clarity, better results, less randomness.
For
a clear opportunity for further development and positioning.
If you want to further develop your studio in the Winterthur/Zurich area in the field of Hyrox and Performance Training, I look forward to exchanging ideas with you.
